Moving to a new community and purchasing a home right away does not work for everyone. Often finding a rental property first, then taking the time to look for that perfect home is the best way to go. If you decide to rent then you should know your rights  as a tenant so I suggest you read the British Columbia Tenancy Act.
 
Finding a good rental property may take a little time, therefore, it is best to start the process early. This is where friends, family, your new employer or a Realtor® could help by providing information on schools, public transportation, local recreation as well as which areas of town would be best for you and your family.
 
To help with the search for your temporary home I have included several websites that advertise rental properties. Most Real Estate Brokerages will have a Property Management Division.  Coast Realty Group, is the largest independent real estate company on Vancouver Island and has an excellent property management team.
 
I find Kijiji and Craigslist excellent places to search for rental properties as well but there are many other websites where you can find rentals.
