Home InspectionAs a Buyer, having a home inspection can be the best investment you make when purchasing a home. A smart Seller will also invest in a home inspection as a way to get a better offer.
Excerpts from the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors website, www.cahpi.bc.ca
CAHPI(BC) is a self-regulating Association of professional home and property inspectors, representing all regions of British Columbia. We are committed to protecting consumers through our stringent membership requirements, mandatory ongoing training programs, and our detailed Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics...Home Inspectors now require licenses to operate in British Columbia. Consumer Protection BC is responsible for licensing and administering the regulations.
Be sure to ask to see your home inspector's licence.
Home InspectorsFor a complete list of Home Inspectors, see the Yellow Pages or click here.
Remember that if the home you are purchasing has a wood burning appliance you will need a WETT, (Wood Energy Technical Transfer), certified Inspector to do the inspection.
